In July 2018, the second time I set foot on the island of Sumatra, this time in the provincial capital of North Sumatra, Medan. Famous as a big city with a lot of busyness, it turns out that Medan has its own charm,
especially in the field of historical tourism, including being a princess for a day at the Maimun Palace in Medan.

| History of the Sultanate of Deli |
Maimun Palace, my first destination. Located not far from where we were staying, my friends and I decided to walk while enjoying the beautiful afternoon of this Malay Deli city.
Located at Jalan Brigjen Katamso No. 66, Maimun Palace is open every day from 08.00 to 17.00 WIB. The Maimun Palace invited Menong's friends to get acquainted with this Medan city icon. Dominated by the color yellow, this ± 2,722 m² palace has architecture typical of Malay Islamic culture in Europe. The yellow color itself has a special meaning for Malay and the colors of the greatness of the Deli kingdom. Arches (arcades) on the roof that resemble a boat best characterize Islamic buildings, as well as buildings in the Middle East region.

| Sultan's throne |
Greeted by a marble-lined staircase that was brought in directly
from Italy, Menong's friends can directly enjoy a room full of furniture
and palace decorations. Each room certainly has its own function,
such as the coronation of a king or receiving guests.
Founded on August 26, 1888, this palace has 2
floors, 30 rooms, and 3 parts, namely the main building for the king's throne and wings
right and left. This palace is a legacy of the Deli Sultanate,
founded by Sulan Mahmoed Al Rashid Perkasa Alamsyah, who is a descendant of the 9th Sultanate of Deli.

It is undeniable; the beauty of this palace still radiates. Every unique detail and ornament is refreshing to the eye. In the main room of ± 412 m², Menong's friends can see and take pictures. The background is a throne dominated by yellow.

Menong's friends can also rent clothes for the daughter of the Deli Sultanate while visiting the museum and become a princess for a day at Medan's Maimun Palace. For
Rp. 60,000, Menong friends can choose the color and pattern according to their choice
and take a walk around the palace while wearing the typical clothing of the sultan's daughter.
Menong's friends can make every corner of the palace a photo spot.
Outside the palace stretched a quiet, spacious field and a place to buy souvenirs. This field is often used for various purposes. In the courtyard of the palace there is a ponting cannon, which, according to the saga, is the incarnation of the green princess as a palace guard from the invasion of the king of Aceh.
