The experience of staying in a glamping site was new to me when I participated in an outbound event at the end of 2021. Exciting and enjoyable, it prompted me to write a review of Miracle Signature Hills Sari Ater, the glamping site we chose.
Glamping at Sari Ater
Miracle Signature Hills Sari Ater is one of the glamping sites located in the Sari Ater hot spring area, Subang Regency, West Java. Taking a one-hour journey from the center of Bandung, this experience feels worth trying.
For those who have never been there, this glamping site seems hidden at first glance. Friends of Menong will be greeted by a rocky road and a small reception office in the form of a beautiful building with transparent glass walls.
As the name suggests, Glamour Camping is a row of large tents combined with neatly arranged wooden beams on an elevation. Each tent stands apart from the others, adorned with wooden fences. Guests must climb a metal staircase to reach the large tent that will be our room for 2 nights and 3 days.
Although this staircase is safe to climb, Menong's friends who are bringing children (especially toddlers), the elderly, or those with foot or height issues should think carefully before booking a room here.
For Menong's friends who choose a room that doesn't require climbing stairs, the hotel also provides exclusive rooms, and of course, at a higher rate. This room is more dominated by wood. The stairs provided are also not too high, making them safe for children and the elderly.
Fasilitas Kamar
As soon as we arrived at the top, we were greeted by a tent ceiling high enough for Menong's friend to stand upright in the room. Just like a camping tent, the glamping tent is also equipped with a super large zipper as the entrance. "This 'door' can be folded upwards when you want fresh air to enter the room."
Inside the room we occupied, there are 3 beds: one main large bed (number 2) and two small floor mattresses (number 4). In front of the 'door' of the room, there is a set of chairs and a coffee table, plus a TV. A wooden wardrobe is available in the corner that we cannot open when two small mattresses are laid out underneath.
One sink is available near the small-sized bathroom. Don't imagine a hotel-style bathroom. There is only a hot water shower, a bucket, a scoop, and a sitting toilet. Menong's friend also received bathing supplies (towels, soap, and shampoo) and a clothesline placed on the terrace in front of the tent door. Don't forget to make sure the water (and hot water) in the bathroom flows smoothly.
I personally chose the mattress laid out on the floor of the room so we could chat more freely. After a brief tour of the adjacent room (we couldn't manage to visit any other rooms because we were tired from going up and down the stairs), we chose to go to bed early, missing out on the night of camaraderie.
Because I still have work to catch up on, I opened my laptop. Thank God there are enough power outlets and the internet connection is quite smooth, so I can surf the web freely.
I rate the room 4/5.
Restaurant
Resto Miracle Signature Hills is located in the lobby, separated by a stone path. The outdoor restaurant concept with a natural ambiance is very suitable for the glamping theme. In terms of food, the dishes are quite tasty, especially the Sundanese cuisine. This restaurant can be used by Menong's friends as a gathering place because it is spacious and equipped with a music stage.
The restaurant also serves hot drinks like bandrek and bajigur, stews, and even grilled sausages and satay that can accompany Menong's friends as the night air gets colder.
I give a 4/4 rating to the restaurant.
Yay or Nay
For Menong friends who have a spirit like mine, wanting to engage in outdoor activities but too lazy to go through the hassle, glamping can be an exciting idea to try. There are many beautiful and Instagrammable spots that Menong's friends can use for selfies. When night falls, a beautiful view welcomes Menong's friends.
However, just like camping tents, there are many unexpected things when we stay at glamping. One of them is that when the rainy season arrives, the tent's roof, which is not very strong, will not be able to hold the water, causing the tent's roof to sag down full of water or even leak.
My friend and I, who were sleeping on the lower bed, felt the water from the leaking roof flood the mattress. Not to mention the cold air that we definitely can't withstand. Because of the natural ambiance, don't be surprised if Menong's friends often find leeches or bloodsuckers creeping quietly in the bathroom, sink, and even on the tent walls or bedroom floor.
For Menong's friends who expect privacy, it is recommended to choose a 'suite' room because the thin walls will make our conversations reach the 'neighbors' next door.
Overall, I liked Miracle Signature Hills as a choice for experiencing glamping. How about Menong's friends after reading the review? Are they interested too?
