My husband and I got married at a mature age. When it was first introduced, of course, we both had the same goal: to build a household. Without knowing, the dating period was only a couple of weeks from getting to know each other seriously to the level of marriage. "Sweet moment love" was created when we both had been husband and wife. One of them is by collecting romantic songs. What romantic song is our favorite?

How I Met My Husband

This topic has always been an exciting discussion between me and my husband until now, even though we have been married for several years. Why do we still often discuss topics that might be said to be at this stage?

The answer is because we both feel ‘azed’ in the way Allah SWT brings us together.

Although at first half my heart still refused because many things do not match my expectations as my future husband of dreams, my friend continued to convince me if his nephew is a good man, devoutly religious, and most importantly, very much loved his mother.

A man who glorifies his mother will also treat his wife in the same way.

After getting acquainted and exchanging stories, we had distanced ourselves from each other and only communicated with a friend. It is never to be expected how God’s scenario is going; a story suddenly begins. Time feels like it's going slow. In the middle of the journey, the same prayer I always pray.

If he is good for me, close him and if he is not good for me then take him away and give me a much better replacement.

It feels like my heart is getting more steady to accept it, even though I can't deny it is still stuck with the criteria that I used to set that cannot be fulfilled by him. There are many other sides that God seems to give way to both of us to draw near each other. Radiantly greeted me through WhatsApp or met in person because I was still working out of town; the doubt that used to stay in my heart slowly faded.

I just realized it now with the passage of time with the many momentums that are present in our domestic life. A man who is not perfect but always tries to take care of himself and his family so that he is never far from the shade of his Lord. I was always grateful, and in the end God gave me the opportunity to spend the rest of my life with a man who was not only a backing back and home for this heart. A gentle man who stretches out his hands and heart to always grasp this fragile soul.

This is the reason why I finally established myself to accept his proposal.

A lot of funny moments happen after the agreement. Surely it will feel awkward. A man ajnabi (as foreign) suddenly became a part of my life, and there was always every strand of breath and a strand of prayer.

One of the awkward moments was how I had to call my husband, whom I originally called ‘akang,’ even though he was not Sundanese.

Maybe for a month we were still calling each other by the names kang‘kang’ and ‘teteh’. My name in my husband’s contact call is still written with ‘Menong Teman Aunt XXX’...Imagine how annoyed I was at that time, but I still didn’t give up on looking for another different designation that was still unique to both of us.

After marriage, of course, we increasingly know each other from the personal; we both include the side of the husband, who turned out to be romantic, different from me, who tends to gruk. One of the hobbies that is often done is to send me romantic songs that are certainly more suitable for halal couples to enjoy.

It has long been never again listening to music specifically except for a few memories of the choice of songs as part of the mood booster; the message of love expressed through the song becomes one of the exceptions. Not only when undergoing LDM (long-distance marriage), the romantic song is sometimes sent even when we are both sitting close together but busy with our respective gadgets. Olala... it turns out that secretly she was cool looking for a romantic song for a husband and wife to send to me.

One of my favorite songs is the song my husband gave me in the early days of marriage. And this song I will also share it for Menong’s friends.

I deliberately chose a video clip without a model in it; there is only a heart-shaped image with lyrics in Arabic and its translation. This song became my version of the most romantic husband and wife song. The song titled ‘Zaujati’, or ‘my wife’ in Indonesian, was sang by Ahmed Bukhatir, a Nasyid Emiratis singer, as an expression of a husband’s love for his wife.

The song that has then been covered by many of these singers contains very poetic lyrics and, of course, is romantic and can be presented as a love song for the halal couple of Menong friends.

From this song, I was inspired to call my husband Zauji'Zuji', which means my husband. And finally I was able to change the name of the contact ‘Menong’s friend Tante XXX’ to ‘Zujati’.

And of course, we still keep a lot of romantic songs of our two versions of husband and wife, which we will share, yes 😘.
