However, not all are lucky so that we have to spend the rest of our lives in a nursing house. Yuks, check out my experience some time ago looking for a cheap nursing house in Bandung!

Most people will be ‘alergative’ or feel taboo when talking about life or choosing to leave relatives to stay in a nursing parlor. What exactly is a nursing parlour and how is life there? How much does it cost? I summarize from different sources.

Tips for Finding a Nurss

Manager

Location

When we leave parents or relatives, the location is selected and adjusted to make it easier for us when it will visit. Although the availability of empty places can not be predicted, choose the nearest nursing house with the family so that the elderly we leave do not feel abandoned or discarded.

Facilities

The costs incurred will be in accordance with the facilities provided such as the number of occupants per room, living room, recreation room, sunbad and others. Is it reserved for the elderly women or the mix of female men. Also make sure the number of residents in accordance with the capacity of the orphan which means not josted.

Menong friends can also check if there is a manager providing entertainment activities for the residents of the orphan.

The West Java Provincial Social Service provides 4 nursing homes located in Sukabumi, Karawang, Garut and Bandung. The orphanage of the East Java Provincial Social Service is located at PPS Griya Elderly Location on Jl. Raya Pacet No. 186 Pakutandang Village Kec. Ciparay Kab. Bandung. There is no cost for anyone who wants to leave his family here just there are certain requirements. The capacity of the orphanage has a capacity of 150 people with one room facility for 2 people. Located in the Cibeber area of South Cimahi District, Cimahi City, Karitas nursing home receives elderly aged 65 - 75 years and is allowed for any religion (Muslim, Christianity, Buddhist). There is no cost but usually the nominal incurred ranges from 1 - 1.5 million per month. One room is inhabited by 2 - 3 people.

Wisma Elder Elder Sunarti Nasution

The elderly guesthouse Sunarti Nasution is located on the Road. Mr. Gatot 1 KPAD Geger Kalong, Bandung. This guesthouse only accepts independent elderly which means they can still eat and defecate alone without assistance.

The cost is 4.5 million per month when choosing 1 room 1 person and 1.5 million when choosing 1 room for 3 people. Costs include pamphper and mild medicines and companions unless the elderly are hospitalized then the cost and companionship are dependent on the family. This guesthouse includes cheap nursing homes in Bandung in terms of cost.

The homestead manager usually asks the patient’s family to make a visit first before leaving his family.

Fakku Panti Jompo Raqaban Rancabolang

This orphanage under the affiliate of Muhammadiyah is located on Jalan Gedebage Selatan No. 14 A RT 02 RW 02 Rancabolang, Gedebage District, Bandung City. It has been established since 1980, this orphanage is devoted to the elderly incapability so as not to accept the elderly who still have families, especially financially able families. The need for a parlor comes from donors.

Managed by 6 administrators, the residents of the orphanage are given activities such as studies, skills and other positive activities such as gymnastics and health check-ups.

Some of the orphanage is managed professionally but some start from caring for others. The nursing partner not only accepts the elderly but also some people with special needs despite the age of less than 60 years. In general, the occupants of the orphanage do come from families who do not have the time or special skills to maintain the elderly.

Pondok Elder Princess Sumpena

The house where we left Eyang Jauh, Pondok Lansia Putri Sumpena, very simple with the original house in the 90's not so big but has enough space to be filled with 11 occupants (male and female). Some residents inhabit the room together, including the Far Eyang. Some residents with special needs such as stroke or others occupy their own rooms. So far, the home of our choice is the only nursing home that can accept the elderly are not independent.

Located in the Lembang area, every morning, residents will be bathed by the manager and then breakfast and end with sunbathy activities. To avoid the occupants of the 'escape' from the parlor, the iron fence is deliberately not given lubricant so that it is difficult to shift and sound when there are people coming to open the door.

There are 4 administrators including the chairman of the Foundation, three stand by guard because they live in the orphans and 1 person, namely the locals who are in charge of helping to wash clothes and bathe the occupants.

There is no sad impression, all seem healthy and fresh. Eyang Jauh himself seemed to be more obedient and spent time sleeping. Alhamdulillah until now, every week there are always families who come to visit to accompany Eyang Jauh even though only a few hours while bringing needs such as eucalywood oil or cake.

When visiting I also took the time to talk to the manager and other residents who seemed happy I was talking to.

Most importantly, when leaving a family in a nursing parlor, always monitor and do not let our family be in a nursing parlor without our supervision. However, it is our duty to take care of them.

Make sure the family we have been deposited is treated as appropriate, not only physical (e.e., health such as care so as not to be injured such as falling, there is a rash on the buttocks due to the use of pampers for too long and rarely replaced, sunbathing every morning, cleanliness of mattresses and clothes) and mental and spiritual (e. worship according to their respective religions and beliefs).

Eyang Jauh himself passed away 5 months after we left him in a nursing home. The last month, the condition of Eyang Jauh did decrease and began to appear a severe rash on the buttocks so we called homecare to treat it. Towards the end of his life, we took turns waiting for him but was not allowed to stay overnight because it would disturb the other residents of the orphan.

The body of Eyang Far was taken care of directly by the caretaker (coinciding the location facing the mosque). The manager does not allow the family to take care of (my estimate, so that there is no unrest so that the manager can carry out his duties calmly). The body car immediately delivered to the family for burial.

Cheap nursing homes in Bandung can be an alternative for Menong friends who need information. We hope we will age with family. As a child, caring for parents can be a field of charity but when there is no choice, leave parents or relatives in a cheap nursing house in Bandung is not something taboo.
