Prayers in the Rain

Stories When It Rains

It was a big rain. The roof leaks right on the table full of scribbles of advanced computation tasks. Ouch... hit by The sap due to procrastinating the work that was due—I only realized it turned out to be Tuesday—another reason to delay work. 😌

Bandung is preparing for the rainy season. Get ready to save umbrellas and thick jackets as friends when traveling. Rain is usually down in the late afternoon, even though sometimes clouds cover the sky since morning.

There are times I like when it rains. Usually I will open the window wide and let the fresh air in. Fragrant grass and wet soil are smelled instantly.

Although rain sometimes makes it upset—drying that is difficult to dry, a roof that is always leaky and difficult to repair, and a road that is jammed due to puddles and other unrest—rain is a sustenance that brings mercy and goodness. The Prophet taught us to pray that the goodness and the benefits of the rain are increasing.

Prayers when it rains

A friend also reminded me that when it rains is a good opportunity to pray. As said by the Prophet (peace be upon him):
Look for a prayer that must be in three circumstances, namely when meeting two troops, before prayer is carried out, and when it rains.

There are two prayers that will not be rejected, namely prayer when the adhan rings and prayers when it rains.
When it rains heavily and we are worried about the impact that will occur, the Prophet exemplified for us to pray:

Allahumma haawalaina wa la 'alaina. Allahumma 'alal aakami wal jibaali, wazh zhiroobi wa buthunil awdiyati wa manaabitisy syajari

O Allah, rain down around us, not to destroy us. O Allah, send rain to the highlands, mountains, hills, the belly of the valley, and the place where the trees grow.

3:38 pm.
The rain just stopped. Do not forget to recite prayers when it rains; it is time to pray.
