Backpackers in Yogyakarta, The Soul of Java

Post a Comment

If there is what can be called the soul of the island of Java, it is Yogyakarta for sure. This province-level special region is a fusion of the State of the Yogyakarta Sultanate and the Duchy of Paku Alaman. Culinary and shopping tours are super cheap as well as the culture that is still thick is the main magnet for tourists. destination In fact, Yogyakarta has always been the choice as a study tour for school students for a long time.

Yogyakarta can be reached by land and air. Many tourist destinations that can be visited around the city or not so far from the city. The first time I set foot in this city full of tradition when I was in high school, until twelve years later, its charm has remained timeless.

Parangtritis Beach

Famous for the legend of Nyi Loro Kidul, Parangtritis Beach is located 27 km south of the city of Yogyakarta. Parangtritis Beach is the best tourist spot to enjoy the sunset in Yogyakarta in a romantic twilight. Grateful to have relatives who live not far from the gate of Parangtritis beach, my cousin and I rode our motorbikes to this beautiful beach in the south of Java.

Jejamuran

Restaurant Jejamuran is a recommended for Menong friends , especially for vegans or anyone who is avoiding animal protein from processed meat. This mushroom themed restaurant is located on Jl. Magelang Km 11. Everything in this restaurant smells of mold. Call it mushroom satay, mushroom soup, mushroom tongseng, mushroom curry and others that taste no less delicious than processed meat in general.

As a person blessed with a 'little fussy' stomach, jejamuran suits my tongue. The conclusion: it's delicious and I won't refuse if I'm invited there again 😍

Beringhardjo Market

Beringharjo Market is the most complete traditional market in Yogyakarta. Pasar Beringharjo itself is part of Malioboro and is one of the 'Chess Single' pillars which symbolizes the function of the economy. This market is also a collection center for batik, herbal medicine and antiques.

With the capital of traveling around, Menong's friends who like to shop will be satisfied to buy souvenirs here.

As a fan of pecel rice, of course I didn't miss the pecel rice in front of the Beringharjo market. It's worth trying after previously instructing the seller's sister not to forget to wear plastic gloves/spoon when taking various side dishes. Unique..typical of Yogya.

Malioboro
It's not complete traveling to Yogyakarta without stopping at the center of the Yogyakarta crowd, namely Malioboro. Malioboro is one of the three roads that stretch from Tugu Yogyakarta to the Yogyakarta Post Office intersection.

Malioboro then and now is an inevitable charm that calls Menong friends   to be lulled by this city of culture longer.

There are many more places to visit in Yogya...for sure.
