It doesn’t feel that this story is told until it reaches the 15th volume. Of course I never thought of the experience of retinal ablation surgery that Zauji was finally in the second year of. Retinal ablation is the release of the retina so that it causes sudden vision disorders.
The
series of efforts we have done include the installation of silicone oil
1300 cSt, silicone with the lightest viscosity, silicone oil 5000 cSt,
injection of CF6 gas, scleral buckling, and silicone HD, silicone with the
heaviest viscosity.
Post Seventh Operation
The operation of the installation of HD silicone in June 2020 became the seventh action that Zauji was undergoing. Although the use of silicone Oxanas HD is recommended for no more than 3 months, doctors advise keeping the silicone Oxanas HD as long as possible so that the retina attaches perfectly.Evacuation (lifting) of HD oxaline silicon will only be done when an emulsion has formed or other things that interfere with the condition of the retina or the eye in general.
Control is done every month with various stories up and down. Some of the examinations were carried out at the pavilion clinic of Cicendo Bandung Hospital to make it easier for us to ask and discuss with the doctor.
At an earlier examination in July 2021, Dr. Made Indra Widyanatha, SpM (K), asked us to do an optical coherence tomography (OCT) examination. OCT is a medical diagnostic imaging technique that utilizes photonics and optical fibers to obtain images and characterization of the tissues of both eyes.

The
results of the last examination with Dr. Made Indra Widyanatha, SpM (K),
at Cicendo Eye Hospital stated that Zauji would be quite routinely controlled for
the next 3 months to observe Zauji's condition, especially the condition
of the retina and the pressure of the right and left eyes.

ERG or Electroretinography
In
the early months of November 2021, we agreed to exercise control on
Tuesday. Thank God it is right with the schedule of Dr. Rova
Virgana, SpM(K). We don’t forget to bring the results of OCT. And we recounted the explanation of Indra's doctor.
Doctor Rova suggested that we do an ERG.
ERG, or electroretinography, is an eye examination that can measure the electrical response of eye cells that are sensitive to light. The cell that is part of the retina is called the trunk and cone.
The cone is responsible for the sensitivity of the eyes to color.
ERG is used to determine the condition of the retina, including the condition of the cell in the macular area of the retina. However,
because the cost that must be incurred is quite expensive, around 4
million rupiah when done independently in the pavilion clinic, Vava
doctors allow us to conduct an examination at a regular clinic with BPJS
payment without a time limit.
In
addition to timolol and glaucoma to maintain eye pressure, Dr. Rova
provides eye nerve vitamins to strengthen the nerves of the eye that
begin to weaken.

This
time, Zauji conducted an examination at the regular clinic of BPJS
without me accompanying him from the beginning because I just followed by
noon. We got the examination and results of the retinal nerve examination on
that day as well. Without having to wait for the queue until it is weeks away. Qodarullah, Doctor Indra, who served as a head doctor, so we could
directly consult with him.

The
results of the examination showed the presence of dead cells in the
area of the retinal macular area of the eye; this is what causes the
nerves of the retina to weaken so that vision decreases. This is certainly
in line with Zauji's vision due to the risk of not being evacuated from HD
silicon since the last operation in June 2020. There is nothing we can do
but keep Zauji’s left eye healthy and reduce all risks that can cause
damage to the left eye.
Doctor Indra also gave leeway to Zauji for control for 3 more months,
considering that Zauji's condition was healthy and he was able to move as
usual.
Thank goodness I's a thing.

What
we have to be grateful for together is that until now Zauji can still be
active as usual even though he can no longer drive at night as before.
And at least we're still living everything together. The bad condition
that I used to imagine when the first time Zauji was sentenced to suffer from retinal ablation, thank God, faded over time.
