Hotel
Puri Khatulistiwa Jatinangor became one of the hotels with a strategic
location in the Jatinangor area, Sumedang Regency of West Java.
Location of Hotel Puri Equatorial Jatinangor
Hotel
Puri Khatulistiwa Jatinangor is located at Jl. Raya Jatinangor No. 20,
Cibeusi, Kec. Jatinangor, Sumedang Regency, West Java 45363, right in
front of the campus of the Institute of Internal Government (IPDN) and
not far from several famous campuses in West Java, namely the campus of
the Indonesian Cooperative University (IKOPIN), the Bandung Institute of
Technology (ITB) Jatinangor campus, and Padjadran University (UNPAD).
The
atmosphere of Jatinangor is indeed much changed, either from the
structuring of the city or the addition of public facilities. In
addition to campuses, malls, hotels, and apartments are also available.
Kost in Jatinangor can help friends at Menong get from minimalist prices to
exclusive scales with fantastic prices.
That
said, the Hotel Puri Khatulistiwa Jatinangor was built to facilitate
lodging for IPDN graduates (at that time it was still called the State
Government High School or STPDN), who usually come from various
families outside West Java or even from outside Java.
Although
it is located in the area of Sumedang Regency, Hotel Puri Khatulistiwa
Jatinangor is located not far from Bandung Regency and Bandung City. The
location is easy to reach via toll road (out at the Cileunyi toll gate)
so that Menong friends who want to take a walk to the city of Bandung
will be easier to adjust.
However,
if Menong's friend intends to go to Sumedang Regency, Menong's friend
can take him 35 minutes of kurleb through the Cisumdawu toll and kurleb
45 minutes through the usual road (Cadas Prince).
Menong
friends who do not bring a private vehicle can try to travel from
Bandung, Sukabumi, Jakarta, Cirebon, and others. Public transport is also
available for Cileunyi-Sumedang or the DamriEagle-Jatinangor or Dipatiukur-Jatinangor bus routes (both from the City of Bandung).
Online transportation is also available easily.
Zauji
and I myself chose to ride a motorcycle while reminiscing about the old
college days and took the time to visit the beloved campus that is not
far from the hotel.
Because
it is on the main street and not far from the campus location, Menong's
friends will find it easy to find food, minimarkets, and even malls. However,
even though it is not far from campus, the price of food around the
hotel does not guarantee cheapness for the size of students (including me).
Menong
friends need to try around the UNPAD campus or Jatinangor Town Square
(JATOS). The price of food is much cheaper and varies. We get one
serving of cow tongseng for only Rp. 20,000 with a good taste.
The
reception area is very large with minimal furniture. Not too many hotel
attendants here; as soon as we got out of the elevator on the 2nd floor,
we were greeted by a long sofa that reminded me of one of the old hotels
in Margonda, Depok.
Hotel Room Puri Khatulistiwa Jatinangor
Hotel
Puri Khatulistiwa Jatinangor is included in the 3-star hotel with a
luxurious classic style. The hotel yard is quite spacious, which can
accommodate large numbers of cars. Motor parking is also available
safely and in a shady area. Unlike the general hotel, the parking ticket
attendant does not use an official uniform. And I don't know, the
officer also did not hesitate to help us (who used the B*at motorbike)
to cross the road.
The
hotel has 69 rooms of various types, from the start of premiere rooms to superior rooms, deluxe rooms, and suite rooms. All rooms have a fairly
spacious size with complete facilities but look ‘old’ from the type
of facility.
Zauji
and I got a Premiere room with an area of 32 m² (very spacious), which
is equipped with a set of teak chairs. Alhamdulillah, there was Zauji, who
accompanied him so that I was brave enough. To be honest, when I have to
stay alone, I think I’d rather choose another hotel that is smaller.
One
that is fairly 'unique' and not found in other hotels is the design of an
unusual bathroom. The bathroom consists of 3 parts, namely toilets,
sinks, and shower areas. The shower area is blocked with a wall (probably because of the design of the old hotel) with a width that is not much so
that for Zauji, whose body is tall and large, it feels too narrow. Not to
mention there is no place to store soap containers.
Similarly,
the size of the bed is quite large, decorated with old-style sizes, plus
chairs, sofas, and other furniture with a classic theme, which adds to the
impression of ‘old school.’
A
large glass-coated cabinet is located on the wall right by the bed. When I was
about to lie down, I shifted the glass door of the closet so that my
face wouldn’t have to stare at the mirror every time I was facing the
closet. One trick I always do every stay in a hotel room full of glass.
One
thing that Zauji likes is the floor. The floor is fully coated with
carpet so that it can be used to gather or do activities without having
to always be at the work desk (including eating).
From
the whole, maybe I highlighted the dimness of lights that are not
friendly to eye health, especially when it comes to working using a
laptop. Lights that tend to dim add to the impression of gloominess.
The
room I chose faces the front porch or parking lot so that it looks directly at the IPDN campus. Another smaller room is in a separate building
with a pool view.
The
room rate of the Hotel Puri Equatorial Jatinangor is in the range of
1.4 million, which is expensive for the size of a 3-star hotel or backpackers who are looking for cheap hotels.
I gave a rating of 4/5 for the room.
Restaurants
Resto
Hotel Puri Khatulistiwa Jatinangor is located close to the lobby. The
hotel lobby is spacious with a classic theme (again). The restaurant area can
be said to be not too large, with a long parashma table to arrange
dishes and chairs and teak tables for guests. One thing I like is that the space between the chairs seems spacious, so it is comfortable to walk.
The
breakfast menu does not have much variety and impressed B alone for the
type and taste. During 2 days of stay, no menu has changed. There are
no cereals, pastries, soto, or Western or Eastern dishes. All menus are
themed in Indonesia.
I gave a rating of 3.5/5 for the restaurant Hotel Puri Khatulistiwa Jatinangor.
Other Facilities
It
looks like this hotel is still worth using as the first choice for
official or unofficial events. A large ballroom is located on the
ground floor.
The
number of restrooms is also sufficient. Unfortunately, when we looked
around, the area headed for the restroom was a little dark because there
was no event. The grim color of the ceramics and the gloomy paint made
me feel uncomfortable. Menong's friends should choose a restroom near
the receptionist.
The
outdoor pool is located right in front of the ballroom. The pool is
large enough for children and adults. Its wide size can be a Mentong friend's choice for recreation with family.
As
the first hotel in Jatinangor, of course, the hotel Puri Khatulistiwa
Jatinangor is equipped with complete facilities and is well in its era.
