When you go to an
area, usually we also look for information about the nearest tourist destinations.
Which we can visit. Harau Valley is
one of the favorite tourist destinations in West Sumatra. I was also amazed by how there were many lodgings in the Harau Valley that we visited.

Born and raised in West Java, I don't know 'rai' as part of the phenomenon of nature. A canyon can be interpreted as a valley that has slopes or sides that are steep and narrow due to the movement of rivers, erosion, weathering, or
tectonic activity. In English, the canyon is called the term
“canyon.”
While the United States has a grand, very famous canyon, Indonesia has a lot of canyons, like Canyon
Sianok, Harau Valley, and Anai Valley in West Sumatra; Green Canyon, or
Cukang Taneuh, in Pangandaran, West Java; and Bromo Gorge in East Java.
In addition to Sianok Canyon. Valley
Harau, located in the Regency of Fifty Cities, is also included in the canyons known for their beauty. When going through the city of Bukittinggi, friends are busy discussing Sianok Canyon, which is indeed
famous throughout the world.
When visiting Bromo in 2017, I didn’t realize that I set my feet in the wrong time.
one canyon in Indonesia because the body of Mount Bromo itself is a link
between the valley and the canyon with the caldera (the sea of sand where we have breakfast and
take a picture).
Harau Valley
From Hotel Mangkuto Payakumbuh, where we stayed, Harau Valley is only about 13 km away. 6 days stay in
Payakumbuh; in total, there are 4 drivers who receive our orders every morning and evening
with one type of car brand, K*rim*n. One driver was delivering
We are 5x.
With the cost of only Rp.
65,000, we drove to the Harau Valley one afternoon. The journey is fairly
It doesn’t go through any traffic point. Entering the Geopark area (park geology) of Harau Valley, we pay an entrance ticket of Rp. 5,000/person.
Entering the Harau Valley area
with an area of 669 hectares, we were greeted by fresh air with rice fields flanked by the view.
The two big rock hills welcomed us. High cliffs towering, hilly, and bumpy with a height of about 100–500 meters. I'm stunned.
See it and start busy capturing the moment. Driver,
be kind to guide us and promise to wait for us before delivering.
We went back to the hotel.
Harau Valley Waterfall
Drivers also offered us
to visit Harau Dream Park (separate tickets); one of the tourist areas in
Harau Valley presents replicas of various cities in Europe.
Because of the limited time, our destination is a waterfall that appears to be poking out on the sidelines, with cliffs as high as 50 to 90 meters.
No need for great effort to achieve it
because the location of the waterfall only runs 5 meters from the parking lot, right in the
back row of souvenir shops. Lots of long-tailed monkeys roaming
Make one of the 'smoke' friends not to get out of the car.
There are 6 waterfalls in

Many people flocked to the trail that turned out to be water.

Homestay
After taking pictures, we also
rushed home by taking a different path that is down the side of the cliff.
The inn is right facing the cliff, waterfall, or expanse of rice fields in the valley.
In the Harau Valley, there are many homestay-themed things that can be used for
individuals or entourages. In addition to that,
Menong friends can choose glamping to add excitement. Reporting from
various sites, lodging rates in Harau Valley start at Rp. 100,000/night.
Some inns
offer facilities for outbound activities and bonfires. Friends can also
choose lodging in the area before entering the Geopark area just for
reaching the waterfall, and the view of the cliff from a close distance certainly requires a vehicle again.
The facilities provided are complete,
such as air conditioning, TV, wifi, parking lots, and cafes.
Menong's friend who intends to spend the night in Harau Valley must ensure ammunition,
aka, enough equipment, or food because there is no minimarket. Shops or
stalls can be counted with fingers and centered near the waterfall only.
Definitely not open 24 hours. FYI, in West Sumatra there is no minimarket. In**mar*t
or A*fa**rt, so we shop at a local stall or store.
We stopped at one Instagrammable point to enjoy the beauty of the sunset. That's right.
The scenery we saw was very similar to the illustrations of the village in the comics. We
take a picture (again) with a sun that slowly sinks. A tour
guide directs us on how to take photos with the best angles.
Natural Phenomena
The desolate atmosphere began to propagate.
When the night starts, the night makes me feel uncomfortable. I imagine
the process of forming a canyon. What is happening and how long? Remembering the story of the Lear of Cugenang during the Cianjur earthquake first, making me wonder if the power is as terrible as
what could form a valley as high as this.
Harau Valley itself is formed
from the broken land that descended and formed a valley that was quite spacious and flat 30–40 million years ago. The movement of tectonics to form an
The valley is flanked by two very steep cliff walls. Rocks in Harau Valley itself,
including the type of rocks that are usually found in the ocean, namely brecciated rocks,
and the rocks of the conglomerate. Amazing, yes!
If
Menong’s friends like silence, it feels like the night at the inn in
Harau Valley can be an option. Not only is the distance not far from the city, but the beauty of a charming expanse of nature will make anyone complacent. A morning walk or cycling can be an option to further
explore the valley.
