Almost
every month of having to look for a hotel makes us learn to sort out
which hotels are comfortable to choose. Yuks, we see tips on choosing a
comfortable hotel that you can make a reference to.
Location
The
first thing that you should think about is, of course, how far the distance is between the hotel and where friends Menong are active. The
trick used by Zauji usually checks from maps.
Zauji
also checks the distance and travel time between hotels with public
transportation such as stations, travel terminals, tourist
destinations, minimarkets, culinary centers, mosques, hospitals, ATMs,
and others.
I
had a unique experience last week. We've never stayed in a city in West
Java. Both I and Zauji did not carefully observe the area around the
hotel because it turned out that the hotel was exactly adjacent to the
public burial ground.
Zauji
and I just realized it was when they arrived at the hotel. Even if
there was nothing. The atmosphere at night is a little ‘different.’ I
realized that open land such as a cemetery must be inhabited by
various nocturnal animals (active at night) that we can hear when the
atmosphere is quiet in the middle of the night.
This incident I also experienced when I visited Jeneponto, South. I didn’t think the hotel was right on the beach, so I couldn’t sleep last night because I was scared when I heard the waves.
The
next day I asked to find another hotel. The only other hotel is a small
hotel with rooms facing an open area with a group of men who are
gathered playing cards, so I finally decided to return to the hotel.
Alhamdulillah, although remote and far from the settlement, it turns out
that the atmosphere of the beach makes me feel at home until the time
to come home.
Hotel Rate
Next,
determine how much money Menong’s friends have. Rates in the
application (blue or any) are usually cheaper than the rate via phone or
from the official website. Some hotels offer a cheaper rate when we
book via the hotel Android application.
Room
booking time also affects the price. On weekends, the rate will be
higher than on a normal day, especially in the holiday season in tourist
destinations such as Garut or Pangandaran, West Java. For Menong friends who work and often provide hotel stay facilities, Menong friends can ask for a 'corporate' price from the hotel’s marketing section to get a cheaper rate with more complete facilities.
In addition to hotels, we also often choose homestays when funds are limited, such as when staying in Yogyakarta.
Unfortunately, many homestays do not appear in the blue app, so I use
the Reddoorz or OYO app, or the official website connected to the
contactable contact number.
Review
After
choosing the hotel according to the location and funds, do not forget
to look for a review about the hotel. Reviews can be friends; Menong gets
in every application.
Reviews
from people who have stayed at the same hotel will certainly be more
accurate. Also, make sure the person we ask for information is true to
have stayed at the hotel and not only ever participated in activities at the
hotel because it will certainly provide different references.
But the reviews we get sometimes do not reflect the real situation. My friends and I often disagree about a hotel review. The
food is often subjective; the expectations of the facilities you want
to get and different conditions when staying make a review invalid.
While staying in Kaliurang,
Yogyakarta, I read a review of a homestay that is uncomfortable because
there is a dog. Once confirmed, it was not the owner of the hotel that
kept the dog but the house near the homestay.
Room
When
choosing a room, we must be observant of the size of the room
available. We used to choose a room with a size of > 20 m² to feel
spacious and free. Zauji himself prefers a spacious room because it can
be used for congregational prayer. Do not be fooled by the big name of
the hotel because many famous hotels have a small room area. Follow the
tips on choosing a comfortable hotel so that Menong’s friends are no
longer mistaken.
Menong friends who bring family can choose a family room or room with a connecting door.
The first thing I tell the receptionist or marketing is that we ask for a non-smoking room. In addition, make sure the bed that Menong's friends choose is according to what Menong's friends need.
We both chose a room with a double bed. A double bed is a bed that contains two people (queen or king bed size). Different from twin beds, which mean two beds, or single beds, which mean a bed that only contains one person.
This term sometimes makes me confused. In some hotels, when there are no rooms with double beds, usually the hotel will unite twin beds
into one, although sometimes it cannot be done because of the type of bed
that is permanently shifted or there is a permanent table in
the middle of both beds. Zauji and I have had a room with a twin bed, which means we both slept separately.
Zauji also always asks for a view
(with a balcony when there is) facing open land such as a garden,
swimming pool, or parking lot. Rooms overlooking the corridor, of course,
we avoid because it will make the room feel stuffy. My experience while
staying at one hotel in the Cipanas and Denpasar area with a VIP room view
overlooking a large tree. Finally, I chose to exchange rooms even with a
lower rate than I imagined for things that were not necessary at night.
For
Menong friends who are afraid of heights, also pay attention to the
floor where the room is located. I also experienced it when given a room
on the 22nd floor that immediately made me dizzy when I looked outside
the window. In addition, the room on the top floor will make it
difficult for Menong's friends when accessing the elevator, especially when
having to queue for a long time, and we cannot choose an alternative
staircase.
Do not forget to find out if the hotel that Menong's friends choose also provides a bar and club. I once got a room at a hotel in Jakarta that was right over the
nightclub. Just imagine when Prostrings prays at night. I can feel the
shock of music echoing on the floor below.
Hotel Facilities
Also
make sure the rate that Menong friends choose is according to the desired
facilities, such as breakfast, free wifi, satellite TV, and mineral
water. Some hotels provide free minibars on the first day.
1- and 2-star hotels usually don't provide amenities (dentures, toothbrushes, and bath soap) and towels, so Menong's friends have to bring their own. Some
hotels provide a Qur'an, prayer mats, hair dryers, and irons in each room.
No
less important are public facilities such as a spacious and safe parking
lot, swimming pool (for Menong friends who intend to swim), gym, and
others.
Breakfast is usually served in the form of a buffet. Some hotels serve breakfast on a limited menu if guests are
not too hungry. The more expensive the hotel will certainly serve a varied
menu as well. Of course, there are not many hotels that serve ice
cream, zupa-zupa, whipful noodles, cilok, herbal medicine, Italian and Indian food, and a variety of cheeses that I never knew before at breakfast.
Always pay attention to check-in hours and check-out hours. Generally, check-in is scheduled at 14.00 and check-out is no later than 12.00. There are some hotels or inns that don't serve check-in too late. Every
trip is expected to make good memories at every step. Tips on choosing
this comfortable hotel will at least make Menong friends focus on the
purpose of the trip. Enjoy your stay. 😍
