November
25 is celebrated as National Teachers' Day. And of course, as part of
the world of education, National Teacher's Day, also known as HGN, I am
always eager to participate in every gebyar that is carried out. The
lyrics of the Hymne Master and its Creator Songs become mandatory to
know.
History of Teacher Day
National
Teachers Day, which is proclaimed every November 25, starts from the
honor of the government of the Republic of Indonesia, precisely based on
Presidential Decree No. 78 of 1994, in the era of President Suharto, to
teachers who were shaded by the Indonesian Teachers Association (PGRI).
PGRI
itself has been around since 1912, consisting of auxiliary teachers,
village teachers, principals, and school owners with the name of the
Dutch East Indies Teachers Association (PGHB). PGHB changed to the
Indonesian Teachers Association in the Japanese colonial era. After the
independence of Indonesia, PGI held the first congress in Surakarta,
Central Java, the Indonesian Teachers Congress, on November 24–25,
1945. The Congress formed a new container with the name of the Teachers
Association of the Republic of Indonesia.
The
birthday of PGRI on November 25 is set to be a teacher’s day that is
annually commemorated by teachers, students, and all those who love the
world of education with pride.
My school
In
junior high school, our school was located in a densely populated
settlement surrounded by swamps and gardens that were rickety and jammed every time it
rained. Because the school walls are directly adjacent to people’s
homes, boisterous noises are often heard during study hours. Even once,
we could hear the screams of people while chasing the thief.
In
high school, the limitations of facilities in the school were targeted
by our complaints. Although not far from the government center, our
school does not have complete facilities, such as laboratories, because of
limited land. The Dutch heritage building that was once the hospital
did not have enough area for the development of infrastructure.
When I worked and had the opportunity to visit many schools in various areas, my eyes began to open wider.
I
remember one school at the end of South Sulawesi, precisely in
Bulukumba Regency. Not the line of motorcycles in the schoolyard, but
cows and horses that are grazing casually.
Do
not imagine the school with a high-rise building. I also found a school
building located in the hilly area that makes the distance from one class
to another class further and must be reached with a little
energy and sweat.
Some schools also have beautiful front or back porches with mountain or beach views. No need to go all the way to heal; after learning or teaching, anyone can stop by playing sand or hunting a group like a school in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan
Traces of Indonesian Teacher Steps
There are some teachers that I clearly remember as sitting on a kindergarten bench first. They're one of the reasons why I love the world of writing, including blogging.
The work I was also charged with also required me to meet with my parents' teachers from various regions in Indonesia. My
admiration for Mr. Mother Teacher, who poured out his heart and soul in
order to guide the children of the nation to be the best people in
Indonesia.
I
like the spirit that Mr. Teachers try as much as possible to give
the best for the world of education. In the past, I more often met with
Mr. Mother SMK teacher who was more'serious' although often also our
meeting was filled with many exciting stories that made our conversation
decorated with laughter.
When
invited to explore, visit a 'bengkel' student on a coast at the end
of Sulawesi. Two thumbs I gave to Mr. Mother, the teacher majoring in
Nautika Kapal Arrest Fishing, who is guiding the fishing boat making
project for 1 M. Although it is still a frame
because the process has not been completed, this ship is made from the
best wood in Indonesia, which is famous for its strength. Likewise with
navigation tools equipped with the advanced technology at that time.
Imagine how great this teacher is!
Now,
I often interact with junior high and elementary school teachers, and even not infrequently, Mr. Mother Teachers of Early Childhood
Education, such as kindergarten or playgroup (Kober). It's nice to be
together because of our exciting discussions and often colored singing and dancing so that I was unconsciously remembering well 'Applause,' which is
amazing.
Applause Mosquik... (plap 2x)
Ngiung...ngiung (applause 2x)
Bitten... (Hands palmed the base of the right arm and patted 2x)
Digarted... (hands palled the base of the left arm and patted 2x)
Itching... (Go gossip two shoulders forward.)
Itching... (Go gossip two shoulders forward.)
And
my admiration seemed to never fade because there were many extraordinary teachers
who still eagerly studied, were creative, or made unique innovations so that
students were more eager to learn even with the limitations of
conditions.
Undeniably,
Indonesia has many great teachers and champions who will print a golden
generation that is certainly much more powerful. Even in the various
groups that I participated in, there are many teachers who have
scratched the work, including in the field of authority.
Lyrics to the Hymne Teacher
November
25 is a special moment for education. In addition to the ceremony, the
teacher's hymn song is certainly an inseparable part.
Not
widely known, Artono, a man born in Madiun on May 29, 1963, who works as a
teacher of music art at SMK Bernardus, Madiun, is the creator of the
teacher hymn song. The song dedicated to the teacher is the winner of
the Hymne Guru song creation competition organized by the Ministry of
National Education in 1980. (Source: detik.com)
Of course we are familiar with the lyrics of the teacher hymn that describes all the services and sacrifices of teachers. Initially the lyrics of the final line of the song Hymne au professeur read, 'You patriot, the hero of the nation... without a sign,' which came to be known as 'hero without merit.'
Not many know, since November 27, 2007, the final lyrics of the latest teacher hymn song have been changed to 'You patriot, the nation's hero...build a scholar's person.'
Come on, listen, and memorize the lyrics of the teacher hymn song and the name of the creator!
Hymne Master
Creation: Sartono
Praised, you are the parents of the teacher
Your name will always live in my heart.
All your devotions will be carved in my heart
S' as an inscription 't'ma my love,' tuk your devotion
You as a lamp in the darkness
You are the dew of cool in thirst
You patriot hero nation
Human builders of scholars
Praised, you are the parents of the teacher
Your name will always live in my heart.
All your devotions will be carved in my heart
S' as an inscription 't'ma my love,' tuk your devotion
You as a lamp in the darkness
You are the dew of cool in thirst
You patriot hero nation
Human builders of scholars
And
of course, not only do we know the lyrics of the teacher hymn song and
the name of the creator, but we should also give millions of thanks and a
strand of prayer for all our beloved teachers, both active and dead. May
Allah reward all the good of our teachers with kindness multiplied in
this world and the Hereafter. Happy National Teacher's Day!
