In July 2024, our cousin Arss finally gave the good news. As per the concept
you want and the funds available, we compiled a list of what is needed
to hold cheap wedding costs. Yikes, let's take a peek at anything!
Preparation
The
marriage ceremony will be held in KUA, where the Arsas domicile is, and the
Thanksgiving event will be prepared by the Arsas family. Since Arsas and
her sister work outside Bandung, I and Zauji are helping.
From
this concept, we detail the funds in detail. This is the most important
point in planning simple wedding preparation. This fund will be
divided into dowry, marriage contract funds in KUA, gratitude funds
(optional), or study (optional). Each expenditure is written in detail,
including knickknacks that may need to be purchased or a person's fee that will help the event.
The cost of marriage in KUA
Marriage
fees in KUA are free as long as they are carried out on days and during working hours. Since we also consider the leave permit and others, the
marriage contract in KUA is scheduled for Saturday at 09.00 WIB. (sliding
down to 08.00 WIB and informed two days before the day-H).
The
bride, witnesses, and parents numbered 10 people only because it was not
beautiful when bringing a large group to KUA, which did have a limited
space.
The
cost of marriage outside of day and working hours is RP. 600,000 and is directly transferred to the account number of the Ministry of Religious
Affairs. We also set up funds (optional) for the head of Rp. 200,000 and
snacks for families and KUA officers: Rp. 15,000 x 20 boxes = Rp.
300,000. This cost is actually not mandatory to be incurred by the
bride's family; we just give it as a thank you.
The
dowry was given in the form of cash so that we framed it into a bouquet
in a box handover when I got married first. Because money should not be
folded according to Law No. 7 of 2011 on Currency, dowry is only formed
simply with additional decoration. The cost of the bouquet is Rp.
50,000.
Drina
wears the wedding dress that her sister used to wear. Similarly, simple
make-up costs Rp. 300,000. This moment was only immortalized
using the HP camera because the photographer was standing by in the place of Thanksgiving.
No
need to worry because KUA prepares a special area to hold a marriage
contract. Although simple, this area is decorated with floral
decorations that are quite beautiful and look appropriate as the
background of wedding photos.
The cost incurred amounted to Rp. 1,450,000.
Tuition Fee (Optional)
We
did not invite neighbors to the Thanksgiving event, but Arsas's parents
intended to hold a study to inform Arsas and Drina's wedding. The event
was held a week before the day and took place in the mosque.
Ustadz Rs. 200,000.
Consumption of rice + cake 50 package x Rp. 50,000 = Rs. 2,500,000.
Consumption of dryness of 50 packages x Rp. 30,000 = Rs. 1,500,000.
Total cost of study of Rp. 4. 200,000
Gratitude Cost (Optional)
Initially, we intended to find a restaurant or cafe that used to be used as a wedding venue to save. Alhamdulliah, a relative is willing to be a liaison to borrow one of his office rooms for FREE, and its location is not far from the house of Arsas and KUA.
The
room used is actually a dining room. The room can accommodate 60 people
(according to the estimated 50 people who will be present) with walls
that have been decorated with beautiful lights and tables and dining
chairs that are neatly arranged so that there is no need for special
decorations. In addition, in the middle of the room there is a long
marble table to serve dishes.
The
location is strategic (easy to access from the Pasteur toll road);
there are balconies and mosques, extensive parking lots, and separate
access from the main building.
We
are required to use an office caterer that serves a complete menu at a
low price. This facility is actually easier because the dishes are
available fresh from the kitchen, which is only a few meters from
the room. Dishes are also presented in a courteous manner according to
our dreams.

Building = Free
Box handover = Rp. 200,000 (free services)
Lunch
package (white rice, black pepper beef, capcay, mustopa potatoes,
tempeh mendoan, crackers, sambal, orange and strawberry juice) = 100
servings x Rp. 45,000 = Rp. 4,500,000 (other info mentions the portion
of the wedding menu ranges from Rp. 75,000 to Rp. 150,000)
Baso tofu (siomay 1 pcs + s + 1 baso k = 50 servings x Rp. 7,000 = Rp. 350,000
Tea and Coffee = 30 servings x Rs. 5000 = Rs. 150,000
Market hawker cake for appetizers (saushone sausage, getuk, lemper) @ 45 pieces = Rp. 162,500
Rice box for security + OB = 10 servings x Rp. 20,000 = Rp. 200,000
Fee MC, photographer, OB, sound system man, catering = Rp. 700,000
Guestbooks, paper plates and others = Rp. 70,000
Total cost of thanksgiving = Rp. 6,332,500
Guests
who were present turned out to exceed the amount we had already
calculated. Thank God there are enough dishes, and there are still many
left and distributed to the family.
Menong friends who also want to hold wedding thanksgiving with limited funds, can be tried the order of cheap marriage costs. Items that are not so important can be eliminated.
This planning we sped up for 1.5 months (on the first day I used an arm sling, taking care of the taspen, tasks to various cities to halfway through physiotherapy 😘). Thank God, Allah has made all the ease with our families.
Zauji
and I play a role such as WO, who helps MCs organize the course of the
event (where the position of the bride and family at the opening of the
event, welcome to the elders and guests occupy the chair according to
the scenario of the event, etc.), coordinates all the committee, making
sure both brides remain comfortable (the bride is not allowed to hold
dirty wipes for more than 5 minutes), and checks the cleanliness of the area
(including wiping the table affected by the juice 😑), back and forth to
the kitchen to give instructions for the main meal.
No
need for family uniforms. The Thanksgiving event held is an informal concept; the bride is free to greet and chat with guests. Zauji has made
a list of Sundanese songs that are played using HP. It just so happens that our photographers have a golden voice and duet with the brother.
Even on D-Day, I barely felt anything strange on my right leg. Olala... it turns out in the shoes I was wearing, I tucked down the comb of Zauji, which I unknowingly stepped on throughout the event. 😬
Zauji
and I feel proud and moved because the event is solemn and smooth. The
sister I was pregnant with when I was a baby, I took to the kindergarten,
and I hugged when her body was hot, now changing the status of being
a husband. The cost of a cheap marriage is not an impossibility. May it
be a family of sakinah, mawadah and warahmah for both brides. 💕
