Now, when planning to travel, Menong's friends can choose which mode of transportation is suitable. In recent years, the number of travel options in Bandung has increased rapidly. Zauji and I have made a list that Menong's friends can use as references.
Siliwa ngi Trans
Siliwangi Trans is a transportation service company based in Subang. This travel service is usually a favorite among residents who are traveling from Bandung to Cianjur, Sukabumi, and Subang. This travel service, characterized by its blue color, has one official outlet in the Balubur Town Square (Baltos) area, Jalan Taman Sari.
The minimalist waiting area does not deter customers but is located in a traditional shopping area. Menong friends can shop for Bandung souvenirs, clothes, or food while waiting. The downside is that the toilets are located in the market area (friends of Menong can surely imagine what they look like), and the prayer room is in the mall area (floors 2 and 3).
One of the conveniences of this travel service is that Menong's friends can make reservations via WhatsApp and pay at check-in or cancel if there are other matters. The travel agency will confirm the departure 30 minutes in advance. This service is responded to by staff, making it easier for us if we have any questions to ask.
The Siliwangi Trans fleet consists of Hiace vehicles with seats for 10 passengers. I usually use Siliwangi Trans for trips to Cianjur or Subang.
The ticket prices are relatively cheap: Rp. 60,000 for Bandung-Cianjur and Rp. 80,000 for Bandung-Sukabumi, plus mineral water. Friends of Menong can also send packages with a fee of Rp. 40,000/kg.
Cititrans
Cititrans has become one of the exclusive travel services in Bandung. Honestly, I rarely use this travel service (previously for the Cengkareng airport destination) because of its relatively high price. This is understandable because this travel service, which has been operating since 2005, has a fleet with complete facilities such as a USB hub for charging phones.
This travel company has expanded even beyond the island of Java and officially joined the Bluebird group since 2019. Cititrans has a spacious and comfortable pool with a unique design dominated by yellow and black colors in line with its branding.
The Cititrans fleet consists of Hiace vehicles with Captain Seat chairs equipped with footrests, spacious cabins, and ample space between seats. It really feels more comfortable, especially since the driver also drives the car leisurely without rushing.
It feels like we have only used Cititrans' services twice when we visited Cirebon. The main Cititrans pool in Bandung is located in the Pasteur area (near Hotel Topas Galeria). Unfortunately, Menong's friends will have difficulty if they want to buy snacks or something. Menong's friend can head over to the shop area on the left side of the hotel.
The pool at Cititrans Cirebon is located in the Cipto Park area, one of Cirebon's culinary centers, at Jl. DR. Cipto Mangunkusumo No. 17, Pekiringan, Kec. Kesambi, Kota Cirebon, West Java 45131. One thing I like is the clean toilets, the row of restaurants (including the Nasi Jamblang restaurant), and the comfortable cafes, which are not far from the Grage mall and the convenience of online taxis.
WB Trans
Not many travel agencies offer the Bandung-Subang route. Although the distance from Bandung to Subang is relatively short, the route passing through the tourist areas of Lembang and its surroundings makes potential passengers of public transportation reluctant to use the Elf, an old-fashioned mode of transport that still exists at Terminal Ledeng, Bandung.
For Menong's friends who have sufficient funds, besides Siliwangi Trans, WBTrans can be an option for Menong's friends. Both of these travel options will certainly take the toll route, making the journey from Bandung to Subang shorter. If the Siliwangi Trans pool is located at Balubur Town Square or Baltos, WB Trans has a pool in Pasteur not far from DAYtrans. The destinations served are Subang, Purwakarta, and Indramayu.
WB Trans Pasteur's pool does seem cramped with minimal facilities, but of course, the prices are affordable. The Hiace fleet consists of Hiace vehicles with standard seats.
One of our unique experiences was when we used WB Trans to go to Indramayu, which turned out to take the route from Bandung–Purwakarta city–Pamanukan–Indramayu, making us feel like we were taking a trip to the North Coast.
Aragon
Aragon has a fleet of Hiaces with regular seats and is chosen for certain routes because Aragon is the only travel service that offers point-to-point service, which is beneficial for Menong friends who are too lazy to get in and out of vehicles. For Menong friends who are in a hurry, the travel duration will increase by approximately 2 hours.
Point-to-point will be beneficial, especially for areas that do not have public or online transportation. We once used this service when visiting Kampung Naga, Tasikmalaya Regency. Zauji and I, who were picked up first, ended up going on a journey to pick up one passenger in the outskirts of the village.
Aragon serves routes with various paths, including interprovincial ones like Semarang via toll road. This journey became an interesting experience because it was done at night. We only stopped once at a rest area. My husband himself decided to stay awake all night. This door-to-door service makes it easy for us, who are completely unfamiliar with Semarang, especially since we arrived at dawn.
In terms of ticket prices, Aragon is quite budget-friendly, making it a viable option. The main outlet of Aragon Travel is located in Pasteur, Bandung, not far from RS Hermina. A comfortable waiting area, spacious parking, clean restrooms, and being located in the same area as a minimarket add extra value to this travel agency in Bandung.
